Jintsuu 陣痛 【じんつう】 (n) labour (birth) pains, labor pains, (P)
While you'll hear tsuu often when someone says words related to pain, I wanted to point out the jin here. Jin means "battle position" or "military camp". It's really weird to think of how this combined with the word for pain produces "labor pains".
Also, listen for "zutsuu" 頭痛 when you watch ZyuRanger. It means "headache". Isn't that funny?

Did you know that the monster is loosely based on Greek mythology? If you've ever read the Odyssey, then this story should sound familiar. Odysseus lands on an island, and his men get turned into pigs by the witch Kirke (latinized to Circes).

Anyway, if you've never taken a class in Greek mythology, the k sound in Greek was usually converted to a c sound when it was latinized. Like how cyclops would be kyklops:

Since Japanese is a phonetic language, they tend to use spellings and pronunciations closer to the original borrowed word than the English version. It's just something that comes up every once in a while, so I thought I'd explain that.

Have I ever explained what the name Kyouryuu Sentai ZyuRanger means?
Well, kyouryuu/dinosaur (恐竜 from the kanji scary-dragon) is the theme, even though a saber tooth tiger, a mammoth, and technically pteranodon are not dinosaurs.
The pronunciation for ZyuRanger is actually JuuRanger since the jyu/獣 part means beast. The reason it's spelled in this way is because it relies on some outdated romanization techniques (The same one that spells shi as si and chi as ti, I think). So the official spelling is completely meaningless. It's the same word for "beast" that you know from GekiJyu/Fierce Beasts or HyakuJyu/Animals.
Note that JuuMammoth probably does not use this kanji. That Juu is probably this kanji.:
That's why we spell if JuuMammoth instead of ZyuMammoth.

I've been receiving a lot of very nice, supportive e-mails over the last day or so. This has been very surprising since it's kind of like, "Huh? What's going on? Did something happen?"
I guess people are responding to the e-mail that I posted yesterday. Sure, it was kind of rudely written, but I didn't post it to garner sympathy. I work in customer service, I'm used to dealing with rude people all the time. To be honest, I just wanted to respond to the points the guy made and sort of explain the reasoning behind why we do things the way we do.
The outpouring of support is very touching and appreciated. Don't worry, the e-mail didn't put us in a bad mood or ruffle our feathers or anything. We do stuff that a lot of people watch and the response is all over the spectrum. It's just par for the course.
So once again, thanks for the unexpected positive letters. I'm going to make a post on the forum to share them with others. It's all very appreciated.

Goseiger Last Epic And more stuff like toy commercials, the music video promo for the opening, and movie trailers that come with the DVD. Note: The HD release will have the same SD files. That's because Goseiger Returns was a DVD-only release. No Blu-ray. Thanks Toei. So some files will be duplicated if you get both torrent batches.
Plus we released the Super Sentai Versus Series Theater SD version. (HD coming up, I just wanted to stagger the releases.) Fair warning, they do talk about the movies and the shows they're based on, so there's some spoilers. But if you like Sentai, hopefully you'll enjoy the tour that the Goseigers take us through.
Edit: If you don't know what the Super Sentai Versus Theater thing is. It's simply the Sentai Versus movies chopped up into half hour chunks and then aired before the Goseigers in the morning. So the Goseigers hosted the intro and outro to the show, this is the part that we've subbed.

That's true, but we release it this way because it's intended to be convenient for people who download our stuff. We can release all the files in separate torrents and let people pick and choose, but then people who like it the current way will complain. Plus this way actually has the benefit of making things easier to keep seeded and we try to minimize the problem by using a consistent naming style so that all the files go in a specific folder. We're not programmers and how people's torrent programs actually function is beyond the scope of what we're trying to do. We do apologize if it bugs people, but it's something I'm sure people can easily deal with.

Can you stop stacking shit on top of releases please? Pretty much every episode of OOO and Gokaiger you have released in the last couple of months has had music videos attached or creditless openings and it seems entirely unnessecary. Those things are nice to have released but make them seperate torrents, it just makes things messy when the torrent program wants to make it's own folders and half the episodes are in torrent made folders and half aren't.
And since I'm taking the effort to e-mail you and feel like bitching. Why are posts like http://www.tvnihon.com/node/613 on the front page? I'm sure you have a blog some where you can post things on, but try to keep the front page clean, it's annoying when the front page is 5 random blog posts and 1 release. If I'm linking someone to the site to find something they have no idea it's a subbing group and not some jackass's blogspot page.
If you don't want to download those things, you can specify which files you want to download in your torrent client.
As for the front page thing, that post takes up like one line. There's 9 posts after it which are release related and 5 posts before it about releases. Ignoring the fact that its our site to do with as we wish, you're clearly blowing the matter out of proportion.

Looks like there's some minor effects that got messed up between QC and final encode.
Edit: Just some gosei effects were borked and some minor phrasing stuff were changed. Nothing major. New SD should be up in a couple of hours.
