Happy Birthday!

So our list is a bit better. There's roles and stuff, names are bolded to make them easier to see, and people with the same birth dates are grouped together to see who share birthdays.

And I see that it's Kitagawa Keiko's birthday, who's now 26. Happy birthday!

But our list isn't complete, so if you have a favorite actor or actress, do add him or her to the list! http://www.wolfinspace.com/wiki/Calendar_of_Birthdays

Everyone loves food

Food comes up, and not everyone can know every Japanese food that's out there. So here's this as a quick dictionary for foods that show up:

Definitely not a complete list, so please continue adding to it as you think of things.

Spoilers on the Wiki?

Seriously who goes to a Wiki not looking to be Spoiled.
The entire point of a Wiki is to have all the info about said shows.

Trying not spoil people on a wiki is kinda retarded.

To answer that well-thought out bit of criticism... We're not trying to not have spoilers on the wiki. Yes, it would be retarded to have no spoilers on a wiki.

What I meant was trying to organize the information so that people didn't unintentionally spoil themselves on content. To use a silly example, someone reading the article on Dr. Jekyll may not know that it turns out that he's Mr. Hyde. As creators of a wiki, it is within our power to organize the information so that major plot reveals aren't just blatantly out there.

Caring about not spoiling someone is simply respecting that person's values. Maybe it's not something that you care about, but this kind of stuff isn't for you? It's important as an adult to respect the values of people besides your own, after all.

Wiki Categories and You

Categories are Useful.

So I didn't know much about the Category sections for Wiki until I started working on ours. Apparently the concept is pretty similar to the way our blog posts are tagged. It's just a way of organizing similar topics in the same place.

Used practically, that means if you find a subject you're interested in, you can look at the bottom of the wiki page and find the Categories that it belongs to. Of course, Link hopping always works too.

For example, here's our Fourze category:

http://www.wolfinspace.com/wiki/Category:Kamen_Rider_Fourze

You can see all the pages tagged as being part of the Kamen Rider Fourze category here. Generally the code for this would be {{category: Kamen Rider Fourze}} somewhere on the page.

You might notice that the episodes aren't filed alphabetically. That's because those pages are tagged {category: Kamen Rider Fourze|31}}. The 31 can be anything else, but basically that means that page will get filed under 31 instead of whatever that page is named. Since most pages aren't numbers, it seemed like a good policy to implement, that way all the episode numbers are at the front of the category.

This link is in the side bar, but here's a list of our current Categories:

About Spoilers.

By the way, I was looking at this wiki article and liked the way they tagged their spoiler sections:

I'd be okay with just lifting that template and using it to mark spoilers on our wiki.

Sentai Ranger profiles?

http://www.wolfinspace.com/wiki/Sentai_Ranger_Chart

So I turned the names of the Rangers' into links. Unfortunately, the links don't go anywhere!

We could definitely use some people going through and writing up profiles for those characters. The chart's a bit ugly at the moment, we'll probably need to add color overrides at some point as well. But right now it's really easy to see which characters have pages and which don't.

So I made a page... about English

http://www.wolfinspace.com/wiki/Toei_English_Mistakes

Don't get me wrong, I'm just doing this for fun and because it's an interesting thing to note. Anyway, add them if you think of any.

Edit: Oh hey, I spelled "about" wrong initially. Now that's ironic!

It takes a community

So I've been thinking that it'd be really good if we handed out assignments. People like work, right?

But seriously, it'll take a lot of people to fill in the gaps in our wiki. If you're a smart dude and good at the writing thingy, please join up and help out!

Wiki link

Oh yeah, and here's the wiki link for Mega 27. It's kind of sparse since I just created it just now:

http://www.wolfinspace.com/wiki/MegaRanger_Episode_27

Pages will tend to be more thorough when created while I'm translating them or going over the QC for an episode.

If you happen to be rewatching an episode, please do help and fill in the blanks. I don't have the time to rewatch old stuff, but if you're rewatching it for the fun, why not take a moment and fill in the basic info or trivia parts.

More Wiki stuff

So progress is being made on the T-N Wiki, but there's still a lot of work to be done. So far, the majority of the work on it is being done by the current fansubbing staff. A lot of people have expressed interest, but I'm not seeing a lot of actual writing being done.

So here are some other positions that I'd like to find and fill:

It'd be really good if we had an editor who goes through the pages and makes sure things are consistent, accurate, and well-written. If we're going to present this to people, the writing needs to be flawless. Plus, it would be nice if the formatting was the same from page to page. Let me know if this is something that you think you have an interest in doing.

Some content that I think would be good for the wiki:

-Music lyrics

-A catalogue of merchandise per series. Like information about the toys and stuff

-DVD releases

Also, what kind of content would people want to see on our wiki? If you have ideas for this, please msg or e-mail me to let me know.

T-N Wiki needs writers

Are you a writer? Can you make with the info and the intelligent writing and good grammar and nice lady? If so, send me a PM or an e-mail and let's build the TN Wiki together.

So... any Oreimo parody covers starring Youko yet? I can totally see it working with either Hiromu or Ryuuji. Anyone want to make one?
