Stop SOPA and PIPA

If you live in the United States, please take the time today to contact your local Congressmen to get these bills struck down and shot in the head so they don't come back as zombies. Whether you're Democrat or Republican or Bull Moose, now is the time to come together to protect what really matters - our freedom of speech.

And fansubbing.

As drafted, the legislation would grant the government and private parties unprecedented power to interfere with the Internet's underlying infrastructure. The government would be able to force ISPs and search engines to block users' attempts to reach certain websites' URLs....It gets worse: the blacklist bills' provisions would give corporations and other private parties new powers to censor foreign websites with court orders that would cut off payment processors and advertisers. Broad immunity provisions (combined with a threat of litigation) would encourage service providers to overblock innocent users or even block websites voluntarily. This gives content companies every incentive to create unofficial blacklists of websites, which service providers would be under pressure to block without regard to the First Amendment.

Service providers would be forced to monitor and police their users' activities as well, threatening the DMCA safe harbors that have been vital to online innovation over the last decade. SOPA gives the government new powers to go after sites that provide information about tools that might be used to bypass the blacklists – even though these are often the same tools used by democratic activists around the world to bypass Internet censorship mechanisms implemented by authoritarian governments like Iran and China.

QC Recruiting session

So it's come time again to call for more QC recruits. The ideal candidate must love the shows we do, particularly the older ones since that's where we need the most help. QC work involves watching a show and looking for errors and making suggestions.

I really want someone who has the free time to work on the show within a reasonable amount of time. Someone who is good at communication. Someone who's smart and knows what they're talking about. Knowing Japanese is good too, but not a requirement.

Anyway, if this sounds like something you'd want to do, just send me a PM over the forums. Tell me a bit about yourself and why you would be good at something like this.

Sen-chan comments on Gokaiger 5 released

Gokaiger 5 March 20, 2011 Commentary by Sen-chan (Itou Yousuke)

So this is an interesting release for us. Ever since we found the footage for this, we've known that we wanted to do it. (I believe it's just from Itou Yousuke's ustream archive, so you might be able to downloads/stream the full thing still)

The thing is... there was a large technical hurdle. We knew we wanted to overlay Sen's video onto the actual episode itself, but we didn't know how. We thought we'd need some crazy video editing software or something. (Turns out it's actual a very simple filter in avisynth.)

The other problem we had is that we didn't know how long the commercial breaks were (they're not included in our raws). So I had to kind of guess on that based on Sen's comments. Not a bad job, eh? The actual sub is from the Blu-ray rip, but the 199 Heroes promo at the end is from the original release. You have no idea how convoluted my setup was at the end XD

Sorry for the sloppy composition for the first few clips. As you may have gathered, Sen-chan (Itou Yousuke) started his video feed nearly 40 minutes before the show started. So I wanted to sub some stuff, but cut out the hundreds of "Good morning!" "Here's the number of people watching the feed now!" filler that was the first 37 minutes.

Other random things to take into consideration was where to position's Sen's commentary lines during the actual show and where to put his video. Originally Sen's video covered up the bottom subtitles, but I was able to clip it so that it's visible now.

Just in time for Friday the 13, Agito 13 released

a

It's weird to see Akiyama Rina so young. Nowadays you see her as Naomi whenever Den-O makes a guess appearance. I wonder if there'll be a fifth year anniversary movie for Den-O?

Splashes?

Anyone want to make us some new splashes? Garo (1280x720) or for older shows like Agito, Kuuga(720x404), DaiRanger, MegaRanger, ZyuRanger (640x480), etc. would be good.

GameCenter [CX] Batch with all the future episodes released

a

Back when there were brackets around the CX.

I know this is sloppy, but I threw in the future episodes in that batch too. Like Transformers and the Ultraman ones. Maybe I'll rebatch them as more episodes come out.

Anyway, please move your files over if you were in the middle of downloading. And help seed too please, the seeder doesn't have these files either.

Ultraman Mebius 15 version 2 released

Sorry, we screwed up. Here's version 2.

GameCenter CX 2nd season batch released

a

Just a batch of episodes 1-10 and the DS commercial. Please help seed since it looks like our automatic seeder doesn't have all the episodes.

I'm thinking of batching the out of order episodes and specials with the first season

GameCenter CX 11 released

Like an onslaught from a multi-formed boss that just will not die, the Kachou has returned!

Sorry for the long wait, but here's GameCenter CX 11. Thanks to Lunagel for stepping in and translating while I work on finishing up other series.

This episode features Japanese comedians like Kato-chan, Ken-chan, and the comedy duo America Zarigani. Season three has begun! Be sure to check out the thread for links to more trivia.
