I talked with the tracker owner a few days ago. He said that thanks to the donations, we'll probably be able to pay for a dedicated server for the tracker till the end of the year.

Meanwhile, he estimates that the work on the tracker is about 2/3rds complete.

Right now T-N is hiring timers, typesetters, and karaoke creators. If you're interested, please PM me on irc. My nick is aokihoshinoyuusha in the chan #tv-nihonchat @ irc.synirc.org

Timers: They capture the timing for the dialogue. Their job is important since if a sub appears too early or disappears too late, it can make a sub watching experience really poor.

Typesetters: They picks the fonts, colors, and effects for the text. Their job is important since a well typeset sub really sets up the mood for a show. Plus the stuff they create is cool. For visual people it's probably the best place for expressing oneself.

Karaoke: Those cool effects for those songs don't create themselves. This job is like typesetting, but strictly for songs. It's probably one of the toughest and most time consuming fansubbing jobs, since it involves precise timing and ingenuity.

Forums for potential new recruits

Remember that fansubbing takes time and work. If you don't have time or aren't willing to put the effort into doing this, please do not apply. These subs don't appear out of no where after all.

Our people working on the tracker are considering bypassing the ram upgrade for a dedicated server. It is our intent to keep adding as many of our projects onto the torrents, so please stop asking that question.

As you all know Tv-Nihon is trackerless, and I have been working to try and get a working one. Thanks to the Camaro's kindness we now have a server to host the tracker on. The only problem is we need to upgrade the server, that's why the tracker we have up right now is a being slow.

We also see that as Tv-Nihon grows we will one day need to upgrade to a dedicated server to run the tracker. Now this is where our fans come, right now we are asking for donations to upgrade the server, which costs about 240 USD per year or about 20 USD a month. Now I am not asking for anyone to donate the full amount but to donate anything you can, even the smallest amounts will help. Any money that is left over will be aside for a dedicated server.

Please keep in mind that donating will not give you any special privileges but rather help Tv-Nihon distribute toku for fans all over the world.
